In embedded systems perspective the term technology refers to the processes and methods involved in developing the Integrated circuits (embedded systems). Various technologies are adopted according to the specifications. The basic amongst all is designing and developing the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Microchip technology is used for highly integrated circuit developments. TTL (transistor-transistor logic) and CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) technologies are the major categories of microchip. CMOS technology is used extensively in System On Chip (SOC) designs. Besides defining the design and development issues this portion also specifies the standards and platforms associated with embedded systems. For example PCI /104 standard is associated with Industrial platforms.
